MARTIN MIDDLE SCHOOL
The original Roy Martin Middle School was constructed in 1964, and is an important part of the disadvantaged neighborhood where it is located. In 2004 the existing school was partially destroyed by arson, and Pace Contracting Co. completed the construction of the replacement school in 2008. The new Roy Martin Middle School is a community hub and one of 48 schools that Pace Contracting Co. has built over the course of over 30 years building in Las Vegas.
This school was a the first built multi-story middle school prototype for the Clark County School District. The 180,000 SF, multi-story project also incorporated many sustainable features including optimized solar orientation, natural lighting, use of on site materials, recycled materials, low VOC materials, and highly efficient mechanical and electrical systems. Pace completed this complex prototype project successfully and on time to open for students previously learning in temporary trailers and tents.
